Only Cardinal Health has the Guardrails® Suite of software, a medication safety and continuous quality improvement (CQI) system designed specifically for the Alaris® System and infusions for the Alaris® SE pump. These software solutions support hospitals in the design, implementation and analysis of clinical best practices. The Alaris® System and Alaris® SE pump support the Guardrails® software protection.The Guardrails® Suite can help reduce harmful IV medication errors and improve the overall quality of patient care. Guardrails® software tracks and measures system performance and helps increase compliance with national safety standards.
The Guardrails® Suite of safety software for the Alaris® System and the Alaris® SE pump includes:
- The Guardrails® Editor is a PC–based authoring tool used to customize how infusions are delivered by setting safety limits appropriate for a given patient care area
- The Guardrails® CQI Reporter is a PC–based application that generates custom reports and graphics to allow the hospital to measure the effectiveness of their safety practices
- The Guardrails® Point–Of–Care software allows caregivers to safely select and program infusion and patient monitoring parameters for the Alaris® System and programming infusions for the Alaris® SE pump. It resides in the Alaris® PC point–of–care unit or Alaris SE® pump
- The Guardrails® Suite MX offers the right protection for all pump, syringe and PCA infusions every time
In addition, the Guardrails® Suite of safety software for the Alaris® System offers:
- Alaris® System Maintenance is a PC–based application built for the biomedical engineer to streamline Alaris® System configuration and preventative maintenance activities
