The SmartSite
® extension sets feature a capless design that bring safe, convenient and low-cost, needle-free compliance to a whole new level. This IV safety technology provides nurses with the support they need at the bedside.
The SmartSite® extension sets are:
- Easy to use; simply swab, attach any standard male luer and detach
- Low cost; by eliminating the need for caps, cannulas and add on pieces
- Latex free; reducing the likelihood of an adverse latex reaction for patients and caregivers
- Simple; no caps or cannulas means less confusion, waste and nuisance
- Needle-free compliant; because the SmartSite® valve is activated with a standard male luer, the use of needles is eliminated
- A closed system by partnering the TexiumTM closed male luer with the SmartSite® needle-free valve port to achieve a closed system for delivery of hazardous drugs via an IV push
