Dr. Nabhan has more than 17 years of clinical practice experience and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. He brings broad real-world healthcare management expertise in a variety of settings, including community, hospital-based and academic centers, as well as significant experience with clinical research, quality metrics, benchmarking and managed care.
Most recently, Dr. Nabhan served as the Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Medicine and held administrative roles as Medical Director, Outpatient Clinical Cancer Center and Clinics and Medical Director, International Programs-Cancer. In these roles, he was responsible for directing complex clinical operations in the largest cancer center in the Chicago area, while growing overall outpatient visits by more than 3% annually. He also spearheaded efforts to redesign clinical operations to improve patients’ flow, access, throughput, and satisfaction.
Dr. Nabhan was previously the Director and Chief of the Hematology/Oncology Division at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, as well as Medical Director of the Cancer Institute. He was named Top Doctor for Medical Oncology by Chicago magazine in 2016, and was selected as one of the Top Cancer Doctors in the US by Newsweek Health in 2015. He has published more than 200 manuscripts and abstracts.
He received his MBA from the Loyola University Quinlan School of Business and completed his clinical fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, residency at Loyola University in Chicago preceded by a one-year molecular basic research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He received his Doctor of Medicine with honors from Damascus University School of Medicine. Dr. Nabhan maintains his licenses to practice in the states of IL, IN, WI, FL, and CA. He is a highly sought-after speaker and moderator by all stakeholders on cancer-related and medical business topics.
