Our indicators are all designed to change color at the end of a sterilization cycle. The vivid color changes are easy to read
This challenge pack is an accurate and reliable way to verify steam sterilization conditions were achieved for loads that a biological indicator confirmation is not required. Each test pack contains one purple-to-green instant readout integrator card.
This challenge pack is designed for process challenge testing of steam sterilizers using standard and extended cycles. The challenge pack simulates the challenge of sterilization to a BI PCD without the BI, it saves time since it requires no incubation. The challenge pack contains a chemical indicator card to provide immediate results for load release assurance. Item T40341A has extended timing spots for the 4 minute cycles at 132°C/270°F and 10 minute cycles at 132°C/270°F. Item T40340A has extended timing spots for the 10 minute cycles at 132°C/270°F and the 20 minute cycles at 132°C/270°F.
In a 4-minute steam sterilizer cycle, biological kill occurs at the 1.8-minute mark. However, AAMI recommends items that have potentially come in contact with compromised tissue be measured beyond biological kill and up to an SAL of 10-6. Our integrators change color later in the sterilization cycle when all three critical parameters – time, temperature and saturated steam – are met, giving you added reassurance that items were fully sterilized.
