Jignesh M Patel, PhD, is Principal Scientist, Clinical Research and Clinical Pharmacology for the Regulatory Sciences group of Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions. 

Role responsibilities

Dr. Patel is responsible for providing guidance on clinical, nonclinical and regulatory aspects of product development for drug and biologic products and leads clinical pharmacology, including pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, aspects of product and clinical program development.

Professional experience

Dr. Patel has more than 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry focusing in the areas of pharmacokinetics, modeling and simulation, clinical pharmacology, regulatory strategy and drug development programs. Additionally, Dr. Patel has extensive experience in developing drug development strategies for first-in-human (FIH) through proof-of-concept (PoC) clinical studies including adaptive and accelerated development scenarios. Dr. Patel has been involved at various stages of the development process for several FDA approved compounds. 
Prior to joining Cardinal Health, Dr. Patel held a Scientific Director position in the Early Development Services division with PRA HealthSciences, in Lenexa, KS.

Therapeutic experience

Dr. Patel has experience with clinical development, data modeling and technical writing for oncology, central nervous system, human abuse potential and (or) liability, analgesia, cardiovascular, pulmonary, antimicrobial, antiviral and metabolic disorder drug products.

Education

Dr. Patel received a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from India and an interdisciplinary doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences and chemistry from the University of Missouri Kansas City.
