To gain proper control and visibility of your product in the channel at all times, Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions utilizes a state-of-the-art enterprise resource planning system and FDA-licensed relabeling capabilities.

Inventory management

Our inventory management program is designed to prevent and detect diversion of product and ensure both quality and accuracy of inventory levels.. This begins with scheduled receipt and inspection of all inbound product in a secure, caged receiving area. Cycle counts are conducted daily on all active pick and movement locations of product. Weekly inventory reports are provided and a full inventory count is conducted on an annual basis. For title model programs, no six-month pre-dating is required, so we can provide just-in-time inventory management with same-day shipping.

This inventory management system fully complies with current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) guidelines for lot traceability and accountability. The warehouse management system assigns inventory in First Expired/First Out (FEFO) to control inventory on a lot-by-lot basis, but has the ability to assign by specified rules.

We defer to manufacturer-specified pack-out configurations and for direction on materials used, as well as for validation. Through our strategic sourcing capabilities, we can provide a vast array of pack-out materials to meet all your product requirements.

Cardinal Health is taking a proactive role in the industry to ensure compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) requirements. We will support Pedigree requirements by upgrading the Elite ERP system to include serialization functionality and 2D barcodes.

Integration with Pharmacy Services

Our Lewisville, TX operations center is an FDA-licensed relabeling facility, allowing us to easily transition and convert commercial inventory to free drug use. This location physically integrates with the non-commercial pharmacy, utilized for free drug dispensing for:

  • Expanded access programs
  • Clinical trial transition
  • Patient assistance programs
  • Rapid therapy initiation
  • Bridge programs
State of the art conveyor system.
While systems and inventory are firewalled, these services are physically connected by a conveyor system that utilizes in-line cameras and a five-point quality check to ensure product security as free drug inventory leaves the facility.  This delivery of integrated commercialization solutions also extends through high-touch, customized reimbursement services, patient access programs and clinical services.
