The Whidbey General Hospital Infection Control Bundle Project targets hospital-acquired infections through the support of clinical practice. The project concept is based on the Institute of Healthcare Improvement model of bundling together several different scientifically grounded elements essential to improving patient clinical outcomes.
Our project is composed of three initiatives:
- Point of patient care
- Family/visitor point of entry
- Education
These initiatives will create a consistent, standardized performance and delivery system to reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections by the creation of simple to use sets of procedures to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated and visitor-associated infections, as well as an hospital-based education component for hospital staff, patients, families, visitors and the community.
