Safety Components

To meet your needs for acute drainage, diagnostic and biopsy procedures, the Interventional Specialties business unit of Cardinal Health has created new Safe-T™ PLUS trays. The trays are designed to help you comply with safety requirements and recommendations and feature these safety components:
  1. Medication Labels and Fine Tip Marker
    Medication Labels and Fine Tip Marker can be used on syringes, medication cups or basins to identify medications being used on the sterile field. The waterproof label helps eliminate concerns if there is a spill on the sterile field.
  2. Time Out Label
    Time Out Label is designed to prompt the user to verify the Correct Patient, Correct Site, Correct Procedure. Since this label is also a sticker, it allows the user to place a completed label in the patient chart for good recordkeeping practices.
  3. BD SafetyGlide™ Needle
    BD SafetyGlide™ Needle with BD Activation-Assist™ technology allows for fast and easy, single-handed needle shielding. It can help prevent needlestick injuries by allowing easy and secure shielding of the needle tip immediately after injection.
  4. BD Bard-Parker™ Protected Disposable Scalpel
    BD Bard-Parker™ Protected Disposable Scalpel, with quality stainless-steel blades and safety engineering, delivers performance without compromise to technique. They are designed with the handling and feel that clinicians prefer, with simple one-handed activation and protection before and after use. In addition, they help your facility to comply with OSHA and federal safety legislation.
  5. Filter Straw® particulate matter filter
    Filter Straw® particulate matter filter allows the user to access medication contained in an ampoule while filtering out glass particles that may have entered during opening.
  6. Point Lok® and NeedleVISE™ sharps securing devices
    Point Lok® and NeedleVISE™ sharps securing devices are designed to lock onto and contain a single contaminated needle. Used with instruments such as spinal, bone marrow or biopsy needles for which integrated sharps injury protection technology is not feasible.
  7. ChloraPrep® Solution
    ChloraPrep® Solution is a rapid-acting, broad spectrum and persistent patient preoperative skin preparation in a single-use sterile applicator. ChloraPrep solution combines 2% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) in a patented applicator that helps reduce the risk of surgical site infection. Hi-Lite Orange™ tint provides visual marker of prepped site.
  8. Facial Protection
    Facial Protection with a comfortable, easy to don, one-size fits all mask. Allows the user to exercise barrier precautions during a procedure.
