Distribution of critical medical inventory
Based on high demand and industry-wide supply challenges, we are experiencing dynamic inventory levels across certain Cardinal Health™ Brand products. We remain committed to closely monitoring inventory levels, with our Sales teams providing customers line of sight into expectations for their institution.
Cardinal Health continues to work with urgency to support inventory replenishment of critical products through:
- Expanding and diversifing the location of our PPE manufacturing production, while transitioning manufacturing lines with excess capacity to focus on PPE
- Expanding our supplier network, including working with other national brand suppliers to obtain alternative products
- Developing new products as rapidly as possible, and identifying new sources of raw materials and manufactured goods; reducing SKU complexity that unnecessarily diminishes global capacity
Local Cardinal Health representatives will continue to keep customers updated on inventory for specific facilities.

Cardinal Health™ brand products and other national brand products
For all products that move through our channel, we are proactively:
- Utilizing data and analytics to determine demand trends while also monitoring daily inventory health through frequent discussions with product suppliers to understand potential constraints
- Increasing manufacturing shifts and over-time, so that we can increase inventory levels for products with existing or expected demand spikes
- Collaborating with U.S. and foreign trade authorities to expedite shipments and shorten lead times
- Exploring new supply channels, including partnerships with suppliers outside of the healthcare industry
