Prevention of perioperative injuries
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participant should be able to:
- Describe the incidence and consequences of surgical site injuries and pressure injuries.
- Understand and implement the interventions that reduce the risk and incidence of surgical site infections throughout the perioperative period.
- Recognize the risk factors and contributing factors associated with the development of surgical site infections and pressure injuries.
- Describe the interventions related to patient positioning and transfer that decrease the risk of pressure injury development.
