Patten is responsible for oversight of day-to-day operations for the access and patient support programs, commonly referred to as Hub services. These services help ensure that patients can access therapy quickly. Patten’s team investigates patient benefits and offers education to patients on their coverage and financial obligations. In addition, her team helps patients and physicians overcome hurdles with prior authorizations and appeals, while also identifying resources, assistance programs and foundation support to help patients locate financial support.
She also manages a clinical team that is responsible for implementing compliance and persistency programs, educational outreach and support for psych-social needs. This team also launches programs for medical information and pharmacovigilance which involves a registered nurse providing client-approved responses to medical inquiries and documenting and submitting adverse event and product quality complaint reports to the manufacturer or their designated safety provider. Patten’s team also offers medical support liaisons in the field to assist with injection training and education regarding appropriate use of the product.
